You will be within steps of all the main subway lines and the port authority bus terminal if you want to use an airport shuttle. George at the front desk exhibited amazing customer service skills. I haven't felt this welcome by a Hilton front desk person in years!! George went above and behind and thanked me for my Hilton status membership. He truly made me feel special. Location, as previously mentioned and the excellent breakfast buffet was delicious. Service at breakfast was also efficient. The tall waiter was so nice and he might be french but merci beaucoup you took care of me with the fresh coffee. Our room was large for New York Standards (double the size of the room we had in the Waldorf tower) and well maintained. The staff was attentive and quick to help with any request. We liked the bar staff, they were excellent. We never did have a meal at the restaurant but the food looked and smelled good. The staff were great with directions and ideas for tourist spots to see. We did have tickets to an off-Broadway show and we should have added in extra walking time because of the snow. The first room I had checked into had trash still in one of the bins. HOWEVER, I do not fault cleaning staff. I suspect they are overworked/short staffed and have very little turnover time between guests. On night 1 the fan made super loud clunking noises about every 2-3 hours. Why do I know this? I got under 3 hours of sleep that night because of it. Thankfully excellent front desk people said that this noise was not normal and they called maintenance and I was moved to a very quiet room with no fan clanking noises. I was so grateful for their customer service. I will most definitely stay there again. I slept very well onward.
